I'm sad that one of the main lessons learned hasn't been seized: on the GOP as well as on the Dem side, there was a remarkable number of small-amount donors. I.e., real people, not only large organizations.

"If McCain would have run a no negative campaign, he probably would have lost by a larger margin."

If that's even true, isn't it because Americans sensed that he would have continued many of the policies that have gotten us to the place we are currently in? Maybe, we need a breath of fresh air. I personally think that voters are finally seeing beyond the smear and fear to the need for a candidate that promotes our unity and common interests, rather than our divisions.
What the GOP still fails to see is that excessive partisanship is one of the factors that is killing our prosperity, that we must learn to work together to solve what faces us.

I guess I'm buying what Obama is selling-- because the alternative seems so mean-spirited and offers NO solutions.

If McCain would have run a no negative campaign, he probably would have lost by a larger margin.

You should mention that parties need to pick the candidates based upon electability. Having an short old man with a high pitch voice and a temper was a horrible idea.

Also, has the U.S. reached the point where it will be impossible for a Repulbican candidate to overcome the bias in the media.

Also, have the Replubicans reached the demographic point where the percentage of the white vote needed for a Republican to win is something that they can no longer obtain.
