John McCain’s Classy Act

One of the reasons that I have liked John McCain is because he adheres to some old values like honor and respect. As the Arizona Senator delivered his concession speech, he did it with the grace and humility that is classic John McCain.

How we lose is just as important as how we win. If Obama showed solemnity in winning, McCain showed honor in losing. Kudos to Senator McCain.

Agreed. And frankly I wonder if we have done McCain a great service by rejecting his presidential bid.

The McCain I saw tonight reminded be of the McCain I admired not so many years ago, like his soul had been held prisoner to the worst elements of the GOP campaign machine, but had suddenly been released.

Yes, McCain's speech was really good. I'm glad he moved to unify the country behind Obama.

Exactly- it is unfortunate that McCain let himself sink to the levels he did. He bobbed back up to the surface with a very well done concession. Where was this over the past 8 months? It would have been a completely different campaign.

If McCain campaign in the tone of his concession speech, more independents and Demonocrats would have pulled his lever. Let's hope that the Rove and Schmidt days are over.
  • Nice speech. But it doesn't begin to makeup for calling Obama a terrorist, socialist traitor.

We've seen what McCain can become when he's trying to advance his career, and it isn't pretty.

Yes, I agree with Chris. McCain in office would still be under pressure from the right wing and he would have had a rogue VP. He's a great man who ran a really lousy, scummy campaign.
