I agree that God has little concern as to who is elected because He has already told us what is to come in the future. No matter what man is in office at the time, His will be done. I do believe that He cares as to what choices we make. I, for instance, dont think it is right that one should have to vote for the sake of voting. If I do not believe in either candidate I dont think that I should have to vote for the lesser of the two evils. I cannot tell you how many christians have stated that it is my duty as a christian to vote. Huh??? First of all it is feeling less like a "right" than something that everyone thinks I must do. Where is the "right" in that? I am an African-American who is extremely grateful for the right to vote. I understand the history of those who died and sacrificed their lives for me to vote. However, that does not mean I have to vote. It means when I believe in a candidate that supports what I believe in that I have the right to then vote for that candidate. I even believe that if there is someone who I believe is so inherently wrong for the position, I can vote against them. Bottom line is that I have the right. This election felt like my rights were being infringed upon. My ederly relatives were bombarded with calls asking them if they went to the polls - or if they needed help getting to the polls. How outrageous.
As a christian I feel it is my duty to vote for someone who upholds the beliefs of the Bible. If a candidate does not do this, then I feel let Ceasar have what is Ceasars. As Christians we are to be in the world but not of the world. We have gotten so caught up in the hype that the real issues are being overlooked. No man can change what God has ordained.

Im sure this will probably outrage many, but this is also my right---freedom of expression.

God Bless

The 'prophecies' about Sarah Palin being sent from God, and about Barack Obama having evil spirits in him, told me only that the humans who spoke those words had political goals that could be furthered by saying such things. I, too, hope the words attributed to Charles Stanley were not from him. Too many religious leaders in our country 'forget' that they are running non-profit (non-taxed) organizations, and as such, they are not legally able to tell their people how to vote. Wouldn't we have an amazing world if all the church leaders told their members to work together for the good of all ("my brother's keeper", "love your neighbor as yourself", "visit the sick, imprisoned, feed the hungry")?

Church leaders who are foolish enough to suggest that god prefers one of these candidates over the other is acting as an arrogant, ignorant, nincompoop. Sure, people are entitled to their personal opinions when it comes to "god" favoring one candidate over the other, but giving voice or advising based on said opinions is (rightly) setting oneself up for ridicule. Any god worth his salt has more important things to do that engage in anything as absurd as human politics.... imho.
