As deeply committed as they are to their core issues (anti-abortion, anti-gay rights and so on), they have been marginalized by their party and by the economy. All of their Anti Crap just isn't playing when the war to keep one's head above water is more important than the culture wars.<br><br>In the final analysis, the vote of the Religious Right will mean little and, in fact, a discernible number of its members will stay home compared to the number who could have voted. No mystery here, Dr. E, and no Election Day surprise is in the offing.

Members of the Religious Right have to eat and make car payments just like the rest of us.
