Personally, I really doubt socialism is the new “black.” More like socialism is the new code word for… *gasp* socialism. Personally, I look forward to discussion of tax policies and anything that gets McCain talking more about issues, rather than Obama's past associations and such, I am happy to hear about.

spencer – please, find me the historical references showing how Socialism is a 'black' concept.

It may be an attempt to make a negative connotation towards Obama, but this is no different than Reagan turning 'Liberal' into a negative connotation on Dukakis (and I never understood how THAT came to be so successful. I may not be Liberal, but why in hell shouldn't Liberals proudly call themselves as such?). There simply is nothing racial or racist about calling someone a Socialist.

I think it's fair to say those people who are in the tank for anyone-but-Obama are also the least likely to get the socialist as black reference, or the least likely to admit it. Even if it's not intended to have any race connection, it's still being misused and trotted out as a pejorative appeal to folks who are malleable enough to let others redefine words for them.

What is really the reality is any criticism of Obama that begins to gain any traction immediately is labeled as 'the new black' and a code word signifying racism by the completely in-the-tank for Obama MSM.

You know what I think of when I hear the word “socialist”? I think of Sweden. You know, that country whose people are about as white as they come.

Give us a hint here. Does “inexperienced” mean black too?
