There is zero chance that McCain is going to win. When 10 or more states have to defy the polling number, you know the Republican have no chance.

What I have found odd are the stories about people in deep blue states worrying about being able to vote and whether their vote is counted. You know people are delusional when people in Baltimore, Maryland are worrying that their vote will not be counted and the Republicans may win Maryland.

SD, I know full well about being ignored, I'm in SC for pete's sake…last I checked I think McCain is ahead here by 20 points or so. What I'm saying though is they want it to be a horserace. That's why I believe they are putting out these late stories that I mentioned above. I'm not sure they will have an effect on anything, but you never know. And besides, they have already started doing stories about the possible Obama cabinet; just Google “Obama cabinet” and you'll get thousands of stories.

You have become so beholden to the idea of one-party rule and God help us because we are then doomed. If McCain somehow pulls this thing off, I might go along with your theory. Be honest…what do you think happens if McCain wins?

A point on your comment SD. Wether Asains will vote dem or not depends very much on the candidate. While it is uncharitable to sterotype, in some sense Asians (at least Chinese) tend to have a very poor view of African Americans in my experience. Something I have witnessed among my wife's and my friends and co-workers. I think maybe only one will vote Obama, the rest will vote McCain, just because of this. Interestingly enough, however well the 'redistruibuting wealth' argument plays with the rest of America, that was all the chatter among them over 6 months ago when politics came up.

The media was the apperance of a horse race to justify reporting on the campaign. Look at what happens in states and districts where there are no competative elections. The local media ignores those races. Do you think the media is really going to ignore the presidential election.

Of course, they should be doing stories on how will be the Obama cabinet and what will happen when Democrats have overwhelming control of all branches of the government.

Is it just me or does the media really want a horserace? I mean, all of a sudden we get this story about Obama's aunt and her immigration status, the apparent abuse of power in digging into Joe the plumber's life, and Jake Tapper at ABC calling out Obama about the pricetag of all his promises. They don't want a landslide. I've asked you before Shaun, but I'll ask again. I see it unlikely that McCain will win, but what if he does? It is very possible that the “undecideds” will use stories such as these to justify a vote for McCain, if that's what they end up doing. What do you suppose are the ramifications of a McCain victory?

Again, I highly doubt it happening, but on this beautiful Saturday afternoon (at least in SC), its something to at least ponder.

Of course there are at least two government spending programs that do not get the votes of the CBC: Defense Spending and Law Enforcement.

Of course, due to political correctness, those of the left keep having to deny that Hispanics are the new blacks and will always vote overwhelmingly for Democrats and that Asians are the new Jews and will also vote overwhelmingly for Democrats no matter what.

Of course, What is really wrong is Shaun's theory is that if the Republicans became Democratic-lite, they would win elections. The Repubicans Party's in New England should disprove the stupid idea.
