It's been the fact that McCain chose someone who is not qualified to be VP. That's not her fault! It's McCain's fault. His shift to the right had already alienated me (but then again, I am a democrat). But his choice of VP just nailed it for me - he was more interested in politics than in the welfare of the American people, and that is not the kind of person I want as president. At best she is a polarizing figure with a lot of unresolved ethics problems, though I will admit she is a gifted and charismatic campaigner.<br>It makes me wonder if the same McCain staffers who are now calling her a "diva" or a "whack job" were the one who purportedly thoroughly vetted her in the first place. I still don't get why an experienced politician like McCain would put someone on the ticket with him that he'd met once. Was her youth, good looks and star power supposed to counteract Obama's?
