I doubt that such things will be seen in the future. As the U.S. becomes a one party state, the need for big political ploys during the general election will go away. In the future, the real election for president will occur between the Iowa Caucuses and Super Tuesday.

Also, anyone who claims that they support Obama should list a non-Defense program that they believe that will actually be cut during the Obama Administration. The Democrats have had control of Congress for two years and failed to make any budget cuts. Also, given the amount of pork that the Democrats have added to recent bills such as the Wall Street Bail-Out, anyone claiming that the Democrats will cut non-defense programs looks really foolish.
