AP via MSNBC:
Victoria St. Gelais is panicky. Tami Brewster-Barnes feels the nerves in the pit of her stomach. Steven Valentine is losing sleep as his mood rises and falls with John McCain’s poll numbers.
Voters around the country, whether they support McCain or Barack Obama, say they are experiencing nail-biting, ulcer-inducing anxiety ahead of next week’s election and all that’s riding on it.
My guess for election results.
Electoral College: Obama 481; McCain 157
Popular Vote: Obama 52.5%; McCain 47.5%
Senate Breakdown: Dem. 57; Rep. 41; Indep. 2
The election, plain and simple makes me sick. I want it to be over, mommy!
“nail-biting, ulcer-inducing anxiety”
And related behaviors — so I have observed.
CALM DOWN. It's just an election. It's _not_ “the most important election in over a generation, if not ever in this history of this country! Agghhh!” Calm down.
But its THE election, DLS.
I think we should have laws limiting the length of time that candidates can campaign. Six weeks would be plenty. It would save money, and allow candidates to actually function at their real jobs instead of becoming full-time candidates. It would also be a lot less disruptive for their families. All good common sense reasons- which is exactly why it will never happen!
