SoCalGuy: I think don't think Brad Blakeman is representative of most Republicans and the GOPers who sent him out last night should condemn his remarks. Most Republicans are decent folks. In fact if I recall correctly, in McCain's opening remarks at the first debate McCain wished Teddy Kennedy well. I would imagine thatMcCain and Palin would both send their best wishes.

Agreed. It would be tremendously sad for her to see the heights to which her grandson has ascended only to not see its culmination.

Thank you for your heartfelt comments, and I'm sure you speak for all of us (no matter what our political stripes may be) in wishing Ms. Dunham a full and speedy recovery.

Has anyone seen any sentiments in a similar vein from the Republican side of the aisle? All I've seen so far are the disgusting comments of Brad Blakeman, who (when asked about Palin's $150,000 clothing spending spree) said "the real outrage is Barack Obama taking a 767 campaign plane to go visit Grandma. Forget about the energy that is wasted, what about the hundreds of thousands of dollars to take a private trip when this guy should be humping his bags on a commercial plane or taking a smaller plane. Taking a 767 of campaign money from people who could least afford it is more of an outrage in my opinion."

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/23/gop-st...
