Also, don't you think the ratings system is pretty worthless? I have a negative rating, and I'm pretty sure it's because of my conservative views here…. especially since I try to be respectful. I doubt I'll ever have a positive rating here. But then again, I doubt I'll continue to visit this site much anymore. I like The Huffington Post and have come across quite a few really nice liberals over there. By the way, congrats on your guy winning.

Even on radio shows like “Keep Hope Alive” (hosted by the Rev. Jesse Jackson), to which I was listening this morning, which features not a silly play-pen-liberal-blogger-style leftism but a more dinosaur-like stuck-in-the-Sixties activism (by the same people, in the case of Jackson), there are unrealistic expectations. They will be shattered and what will everybody do if the Dems firmly control Congress as well as the White House and have no more excuses and Republicans to “blame” for their own failures? (Aside from continuing to “blame” Republicans, that is.)

You're probably guaranteed your American Idol this year. (Black Americans have the right to be overcome with joy if Obama wins, and with grief at coming so close if he loses; the silly white progressives crying more than black Americans are, to say the least, silly.) What will you do when you have to (someday) face the real world? Or if you realize that Obama is far from perfect (much less guaranteed to be in office eight years, as we commonly hear expections of lefties that that will happen)?

Look I understand this is your opinion but if you are going to be part of editorial here, get a clue, please.

1) Obama does not have the experience and has no business whatsoever running for President at this time. – Obama was vetted up and down by generals and ex-Presidents-what do you want- Moses from the mount coming down to deliver his holy Word? Or maybe Pastor Mutheee, witch doctor extrordanaire????

2) Obama does not have a sufficiently long voting record for proper evaluation. – Palin has? McCains been there forever, just as Biden- NEGATED.

3) Obama has clearly exhibited pro-Palestinian behavior. I call bullshit on this. Where, when and how? He has avowed support for Israel- but that doesn't mean he's gonna call the mohel and have a bris.

4) Obama has a lot of nasty friends. So does McCain- G Gordon Liddy, Hagee, Robertson, Stevens,Palin yada yada…NEGATED. can't swing a dead cat in Washington without hitting someone with a shady past. Guilt by association crap.

5) Obama does not inspire hope. – Not in you, but that's ok, 50+million other people see differently

6) The more I watch him, listen to him and read his speeches the less I like him. -That's because , like a parachute a mind only works when opened, and the smear-static has caused corrosion on your synapses and has colored your judgements. Funny because most times the opposite applies.

7) I do not agree with or trust him on the Iraq War let alone the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.” Israel/Palestine has been an issue for DECADEs- this adminstration has done it's damnedest to undo the work of the past 4 administrations. you think McCain will do better HAH!

Secondly, if McCain's erratic, chicken-with-its-head-cut-off response to the financial crisis because-I-don't-understand-economics-like-I-should-and-I'm-suspending-no-I'm-not-suspending-my-campaign doesn't worry you as a so-called moderate as much as all the Rovian smear bait you've obviously bitten on, then yeah, you're right — there is no hope. No hope of trying to persuade you with facts or logic.

One more note: McCain/Palin's base of supporters (The Christian Reich) claim they support Israel, but they only want Israel to be Jesus's landing strip for the Second Coming. Then it's convert to Christianity or else for the Jews.
