1,3,5 & 6 are BS. 7 was castrated when McCain put Palin in a position to inherit the job should something bad happen to him. McCain proved his weakness on number 4 by voting with Bush 90% of the time and refusing to come to grips with even the desire by the Iraqis for us to leave in a “short” time frame. Since I'm not a Republican I'm not that sure that spend and borrow is all that superior to tax and spend so there goes number 2. Wow. I don't even have to go read Hot Air. That was easy.

I've considered all 7 points at various times, and don't find any reasons compelling enough to give me pause in my decision to vote for Obama. Actually I'm kind of fascinated by the idea anyone could be on the fence at this late juncture… fascinated in the same way I might be fascinated by a person without a blindfold on having difficulty zeroing in on a pinata.

That 3 and 5 made the list says something about conservatives.

Though perhaps I shouldn't complain about 5. I get annoyed by much of the McCain campaign's disdain for anyone not in "the heartland" such that much of America isn't even considered real America anymore. And I've spent almost every day of my life in small towns from the heartland (Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Minnesota). Such comments remind me of Mayor Nagin's Chocolate City. Don't politicans today realize there's this thing called the national media?

However, that annoyance is mostly just annoyance and I hope it wouldn't make my top 10 reasons why McCain would be a bad President.

I'll agree that policy judgment and lack of experience are valid areas of concern for Obama, UNTIL you look at what the alternative is. Fact is, McCain could've been much more effective on these points had he not shown his immense lack of judgment in picking an inexperienced – nay, worse: incurious – governor from Alaska as his running mate to placate his base. We may well feel a rocky start in Obama's first term; I'm sure there will be bumps along the way as he gets a feel for things. But at this point, it looks much better than McCain's lurching, impulsive, hot-headed campaign has been.
