His new stuff is great but do yourselves a favour and track down some of his early albums too. His live album "Circles in the Stream" covers some of the old favorites and gives a good taste of what he can do in person. He's a monster guitar player and a fabulous writer. If you ever have the chance to catch him in concert, don't hesitate - go! I'm almost embarrassed to say it, but I never heard of him before. So I started listening. Pretty good stuff. Darn good. In the process I found <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VizDGjTdF7U&feature=related">this offering on YouTube</a> for Pacing the Cage. The image montage is pretty compelling.<br><br>One other I really like is <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9EckOPtGsQ">My Beat</a>. It has a more "pedestrian" theme (actually "pedalist" theme, lol!), but it has the added advantage of featuring Patty Griffin on back-up vocals, who is another extraordinary artist that gets far too little attention (except by other musicians).
