Never seen him in concert, except on TV, but I too have been a fan since the 70s. Great music, greater lyrics.

Being Canadian I have been a Cockburn (pronounced coeburn) fan since the 70's and have lost track of the number of times I've seen him in concert. His new stuff is great but do yourselves a favour and track down some of his early albums too. His live album "Circles in the Stream" covers some of the old favorites and gives a good taste of what he can do in person. He's a monster guitar player and a fabulous writer. If you ever have the chance to catch him in concert, don't hesitate - go!

Boy, how did I miss this guy? I'm almost embarrassed to say it, but I never heard of him before. So I started listening. Pretty good stuff. Darn good. In the process I found this offering on YouTube for Pacing the Cage. The image montage is pretty compelling.

One other I really like is My Beat. It has a more "pedestrian" theme (actually "pedalist" theme, lol!), but it has the added advantage of featuring Patty Griffin on back-up vocals, who is another extraordinary artist that gets far too little attention (except by other musicians).

I couldn't agree more. Even "Speechless" is wonderful.

I never lived with balance
I always wake up nervous
Light comes at me sideways
I hold my breath forever
I never lived with balance
Though Ive always liked the notion
I feel an endless hunger
For energy and motion
Open
