Don't forget McCain's lie that American companies pay the 2nd highest income tax in the world. Our business tax RATE may be 35%, 2nd only to Japan, but the GAO reported this summer that over 2/3rds of businesses pay no taxes whatsoever.

http://money.cnn.com/2008/08/12/news/economy/co...

Maybe McCain thinks only Democrats go to factcheck.org, LOL.

Seriously though, I'm thoroughly disgusted with pols on both sides of the aisle spinning, distorting and lying through their teeth. Finding out what's true is getting to be a long and tedious process.

BTW- I agree that McCain - though a great hero-- is basically offering the standard conservative solutions that have already been proven not to work. He wants to stop earmarks-- well he will get gridlock instead. He wants to take a hatchet to the budget-- well programs that work well but need more funding will go by the wayside. As Obama pointed out that would eliminate more funding for his running mate's pet project- special needs' children.

And Ayres is old news. Its pretty obvious that he was at least acceptable in mainstream society when Obama met him, and not pursuing some radical agenda. I don't think for a minute that Obama would pursue some radical agenda-- and no one who's seen him in these debates would believe it either. Its a failed scare tactic.

No matter what McCain said in any of the debates I would not be able to get past his choice of a VP. A heartbeat away from the presidency is way too close -she is vastly unprepared to deal with what we have to deal with. It irritates me that McCain was trying to appeal to Clinton supporters ( I am one) like one female politician with a little spunk and a grating voice is the same as another one. If the GOP doesn't believe in affirmative action- they need to walk the walk and pick the best candidates who happen to be female or minority-- not just a token who pleases the base.

I talked to my Mom about her reactions to the debate (she was a McCain supporter until earlier this year, she now supports Obama). The first thing she said was, "McCain made me mad because he kept bringing up the same old attacks and lies."

As far as my view... I was tired of McCain not offering anything new. However I was happy that Ayers was brought up and hopefully put to bed. It will be interesting to see if McCain and/or Palin continue their use of Ayers against Obama.

I liked Bob the Moderator.

It's clear that McCain is so obsessed with winning that lies become truth and truth becomes lies. When I look at his face, I see not really dedication, but something more akin to a payoff. Like if he wins he gets a really big payoff..

Not personal success, not esteem...no...it's something else....something seedy...

Money...pure and simple. Someone has dangled a carrot out in front of this man so shiny and large that he has pimped out his old personality for one that turns tricks to get ahead, to win, to turn favors for someone once he's in.

Clearly a christian man he is not. I was raised christian and lying is a big No-No. Not to sound Fallwellian, but it seems as if the Devil himself speaks straight from McCain and Palin's mouths. In fact, if Obama wanted to gain some more points on this travesty of a human being, he would do well to point out how this man's supposed christian values are blasphemed by his overt behavior. And of course Palin's "purity" would then come into question as well. If for nothing else than guilt by association.. That seems to be a favorite theme these days. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. : )

The question is: who is McCain's john (or "Joe"..lol..) and what is their motivation?

Care to guess? (Rhymes with "RigFoil" ) And more evil has been done in the name of that monopoly than I care to think about.
