Methinks Mr. Gandelman posted too early in the day.

Of the daily national polls listed on Realclearpolitics.com, Zogby is the only one with Obama trending up.

Gallop:
Obama has shed 4 points in the last 4 days, from his peak +11 to today's +7.

And that's among registered voters. Among likely voters, Gallop estimates Obama as either +4 or +6, depending on how LVs are measured.

Rasmussen:
Obama is +6, one point less than Obama's +7 yesterday, and 2 points less than Obama's peak of +8 on October 6th and 7th.

Hotline:
Obama is +8, down 2 points from his +10 yesterday, which was Obama's peak on Hotline.

There are also a cluster of remaining pollsters listed on realclearpolitics.com which do not issue polls daily, the most recent of which polled through 10/9: Newsweek with Obama +11, Fox with Obama +7 and Battleground with Obama +8. Because none of these polls are fresh, they cannot be used to determine trend-lines.

It should be noted, however, that the Newsweek poll with Obama +11 is a piece o' crap. For one thing, it divides it's sample 27% Republican, 40% Democrat, and 30% Independent. For a list of that poll's curiosities, see the Campaign Spot blog:

Moral of the Story: Obama's ahead, but the recent trend is toward McCain.
