Polimom,

As an example of possibly selective focus of the MSM on 'right wing' rage and violence, have a look at this firebombing of a McCain-Palin yard sign.

Also, while Michelle Malkin is not a moderate by anyone's definition, and would qualify as unhinged by many people's definition, sometimes she does good research. This post is getting prominent play on Memeorandum right now. It features an array of 'lefty' hate speech and actions (no 'righty' offenses are included of course).

Gentle readers of the TMV, Polimom is right; the problem is not just a right wing extremist problem.

Loviatar, I feel your pain. ;-) Seriously, I too have posted on this concept of a PC tinged desire on the part of some "conservatives" to view the parties as being somehow equally responsible for the current problems we face. Now I appreciate as to how Polimom isn't trying to make any sort of scientific justification for such an artificial "balance", but there are some people who actually seem to believe it's true. Yes Virginia, both parties are culpable to varying degrees, and we've all contributed to the problems we face, both through incompetence and negligence, but the degrees of accountablity (if we are to be objective and honest) are not (and I'm sorry if this sounds harsh) even close to being balanced.

I don't understand how Google hits are reflective of anything other than the occurrence of two words on the same webpage somewhere.

I have no idea where you got the idea the moderates say we should have equivalence in everything (though maybe some do..?). But this wasn't actually meant to be an exercise in google skills -- and I didn't create the madness. I'm merely noticing it.

casual,

I'll acknowledge polimoms observations by pointing that there are over 8.9 million google hits when you enter Bush and bunnies, however there are only 760,000 when you enter Cheney and bunnies for a combined total of 9.5 million. Whereas Obama and bunnies results in 3.9 million and Biden and bunnies results in 589,000.

What does this mean I have no frickin clue, but I know it must mean something because the "moderates" say we have to have equivalency in everything. You know the Republicans have Watergate, the Democrats must have Blowjobgate and they are equivalent, damm you, "fingers in ears, humming loudly, while chanting equivalent, equivalent".

Bush and the Republicans create a proto-fascist regime that intercepts your calls without warrants, detains you on the President's say so while suspending Habeas Corpus and the Democrats have a few million hits on the google for Bush and fascists, so polimom and the rest of the moderates say, all together now they are equivalent, damm you, "fingers in ears, humming loudly, while chanting equivalent, equivalent.

See my previous posts on equivalency.

here

and

here
