maybe there's a cadre of lefties that refer to him or think of him like that — i certainly haven't met any; but it's the righties so obsessed with him that are really propagating the meme.

i wasn't got caught up in the hyper-enthusiasm of the obama scene early in this political season… but as a fairly educated person who doesn't make close to a living wage, i can't say i don't understand the appeal after seven years of GWB and the exciting mcCain “i'm not obama”-based platform.

as far as the tasering goes, well, i'm not simple enough to believe that because wooten's a bad guy, then the plains must be good. 'cause that would be, well… dumb.

Although, I suspect you had better check with The One before you bring the tasering of children up in front of the non-wonking public.

I find that, although Walt Monegan's refusal to fire Trooper Michael Wooten was not the sole reason he was fired by Governor Sarah Palin, it was likely a contributing factor to his termination as Commissioner of Public Safety. In spite of that, Governor Palin's firing of Commissioner Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.
