Really well done. I completely agree that the Republican party is in crisis. I believe they are more deeply infected than they realize. MSM is currently only hinting at the shadow of the problems plaguing the party, but as we draw closer to Election Day where people are going to be alone, in the privacy of the voting booth, they are starting to address the real possibility of Obama taking hits due to race.

I am extremely disappointed in Republicans as a whole -- there is an ugly underbelly to the Republican Party that is feeding off of the extreme right-wing, polarizing, evangelical & racially-motivated aspects of McCain's campaign. I am disgusted and deeply disappointed with the McCain campaign, Fox News and bombastic right-wing columnists & journalists who have been rapping on a powder keg thinking they can scare up votes without setting it off.

The consequences if they should set it off will be utterly apocryphal for this nation at a time we absolutely cannot afford it.

If you think you've had enough of George W. Bush now, just imagine when he appoints himself temporary dictator to quell urban race riots and good ol' boy militias that sweep from coast to coast as the country descends into chaos. It is not all that far fetched, and there are plenty of people whom you will never see on TV, never see quoted in the newspaper or who will never be called by pollsters who literally are waiting for a signal to start the next American Revolution.

Very well said, Joe.

I am starting to worry about the nature of these McCain/Palin rallies. And I bet McCain's campaign is too.

There's a reason they don't want to invoke Reverend Wright. They don't think they could control the crowd if it takes the racial cue and runs with it. The crowd could become openly racist and it would backfire on the campaign. That's why McCain's people don't want to go there.
