CNN Fact Check On Obama “Palling Around With Terrorists”
CNN’s Political Ticker’s Fact Check’s conclusion:
Verdict: False. There is no indication that Ayers and Obama are now “palling around,” or that they have had an ongoing relationship in the past three years. Also, there is nothing to suggest that Ayers is now involved in terrorist activity or that other Obama associates are.

The CNN Fact Check linked to by Joe is a classic example of the appalling level of bias of the MSM with regard to looking into Sen Obama's history.
For the record, I believe there is nada to the Obama-Ayres link.
Indeed, this is not a matter of belief. . . .as the evidence of Stanley Kurtz research into the Annenberg Challenge documents attests to Obama being exonerated of allegations as a fact!
That said . . . it is remarkable that the MSM simply refuses to carry out its supposed role of investigative reporting.
Read the linked CNN article:
(1) The final sentence is inexplicably stupid. “The McCain campaign did not respond Saturday to a request for elaboration on Palin's use of the plural “terrorists.”
Plural could “just possibly” have been used because — at the Fact Check article notes a few lines above – Ayers is married to Bernadine Dohrn, an even more notorious member of the Weathermen than Ayers.
1 Weatherman=singular. 2 Weatherman=plural.
Such is the state of CNN's copy editing!
(2) The Annenberg Challenge files. If there was any relationship between Ayers and Obama, it would have been detailed in these files. The first person to look at these files was Stanley Kurtz, after a long struggle.
The files utterly cleared Senator Obama.
My point is…no MSM reporter before Kurtz bothered to look in those files.
The Fact Check says: “CNN's review of project records found nothing to suggest anything inappropriate in the volunteer projects in which the two men were involved.”
To my knowledge, CNN has never looked into the Annenberg Challenge files, and certainly not before Kurtz. CNN did interview Kurtz, so perhaps this counts.
CNN Fact Check goes on to note that the NYT “Washington Post, Time magazine, the Chicago Sun-Times, The New Yorker and The New Republic, have said that their reporting doesn't support the idea that Obama and Ayers had a close relationship.”
Again, did these major publications send a reporter to look into the documents.
NO! Instead, “their reporting” . . . as you can see from the CNN Fact Check . . . consisted of asking Senator Obama's spokesman about the relationship, and echoing Senator Obama's words.
Again . . . the documented evidence in the Annenberg Challenge files seems to utterly clear Senator Obama. That is DEFINITIVE evidence.
My point is . . . these were dug into by one man. Not by CNN, not the New York Times, not the Washington Post . . . nor even the Chicago papers.
I simply cannot believe that the MSM would accept the word of Palin or McCain's spokesman as the last word on any subject . . . or as definitive for a Fact Check.
The irony here is that the evidence clears Obama!
But I suspect the fear of finding otherwise was a major factor in the otherwise inexplicable refusal of the MSM to send one . . . (1) singular . . . reporter to Chicago to look, while they sent dozens to god-forsaken towns in Alaska to look into Palin's background.
MSM bias in this election has been extraordinary.

That's a strange protest. Kurtz is vehemently anti-Obama. If anybody would have found evidence of a long and close relationship between Obama and Ayers in the Annenberg Challenge files, Kurtz would have written extensively about it.
Did Fact Check look at the files? I have no idea. But they don't always have access to the files.
