		<description>I certainly hope the Supreme Court agrees to grant a writ of certiorari for this case. The case of Troy Davis highlights many of the legal, ethical and human rights problems with our legal system as it concerns the ultimate sentence, the death penalty. The procedural barriers cited by the appeals courts in not allowing a re-examination of the case are appalling and when combined with the lack of clemency from the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles, would have resulted not only in Troy Davis&#039;s death but also the death of justice in death penalty cases.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The death penalty is not something to be taken lightly on any account, and I truly hope the Supreme Court is willing to set precedent ensuring state appeals courts have the power to hear merited appeals and death row inmates who truly did not receive a fair trial have the opportunity to seek justice.</description>
