		<description>Fantastic article. Sums up the way I&#039;ve felt about the Republican Party. I live in Virginia and tonight I will be watching the senatorial debate between Warner and Gilmore -- talk about a nightmare. Both are way too partisan for me, but I have to make a choice. Unfortunately more and more lately the GOP is forcing my hand toward the other side because they cling to a hard-right stance that is losing ground in the face of a changing cultural and societal landscape.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I wish we could get someone like Wayne Gilchrest in my state.</description>

		<description>I cannot tell you how proud of Wayne I am.  As a registered independent resident of his district I was crushed when I found out that I missed the cutoff to change my registration to vote for him in the primary.  The moderate republican in the House has become so rare as to be almost extinct.  That is a sad sad thing.</description>
