		<description>I&#039;ll do without the popcorn, but I&#039;ll be watching it with some coffee, some unhealthy snack food, and some other political junkies.  JSpencer, I second that about the gimmicky moments.  Sure, Lloyd Bentsen&#039;s line from the 1988 VP debate was a good one, but I&#039;d rather have a lot of substantial thoughts than a few good sound bites.  But who says empathy means you can&#039;t have a killer instinct?</description>

		<description>Interesting to read so many comments here and there from democrats showing sympathy or empathy for Sarah Palin. I have to wonder how much of the same would be generated from the right if the shoe was on the other foot? Democrats &#039;generally&#039; seem more willing to empathize, which has in some cases blunted the killer instinct modern politics seems to require. Frankly I hope they both do well, but more importantly I hope the debate doesn&#039;t depend on gimmicky moments.</description>
