My parents and younger brother had the opportunity to meet Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward many years ago in Connecticut. These were just some people he'd never met and would probably never meet again. Just regular folks he could've fobbed off with a curt, perfunctory greeting. Far from it. My family said they were both polite and charming. No airs whatsoever. And, by the way, yes – the most incredible blue eyes you'd ever seen.

There's never been anyone else like him. He lived life to its fullest- all the way up until the end, committed himself to everything he did,
and always remembered to give back. Plus, who in Hollywood stays married for 50+ years? I admired him greatly.
