Cubs WIN !

I hope you will forgive this diversion from politics but as a die-hard Cubs fan (is there any other kind ?) I had to post to celebrate the fact that, with a victory over the Mets tonight, the Cubs have secured the best record in the National League and thus will have home field advantage through the entire playoff series.

I’m not counting any chickens yet, but this will help in the drive for a repeat World Series win (well if you count the years by hundreds).

I cannot allow myself to get my hopes too high yet again. The pain of Bartman and last year's fiasco are still fresh in my mind, and the '84 series and Sutcliffe meltdown scarred me for life.

However, how fitting would it be for the Cubbies to finally break through exactly 100 years after their last World Series pennant?
