Oh, well. There's always the Big Three. At least the UAW people get something for the money along with the execs, and there's no merging sought or divestiture and reorganization (something I've advocated at times for GM -- a separate, independent Chevrolet, for example). How can Washington say no when it's been -- bailing out lately?

Actually, sold my Silverado LT 2500HD Turbo-diesel crew-cab long bed earlier this year. No more big-ass trucks for me.

But that sure is a purrty truck to dangle in front of a Texan you'se got there! Too purrty to take out in the fields, though. It's just a go'dancin truck.

Shaun - great post, issue oriented with enough emotion invested to make it compelling, and you didn't feel the need to find a (Republican) dragon to slay.

I make a habit of criticizing your posts I find ill-thought out and screedish, so I have to be be fair on this one.

I agree that the financial mess we are seeing right now is like watching a ship with a gaping hole below the waterline sink. It isn't obvious yet that the ship is already sunk, and that the bailing is just a waste of time.

Kind of sad how little attention better posts get, huh? I made a comment about that phenomenon overall in the 'Ugly People in an Ugly World' post by Jazz farther up.
