Michael, I attended one of the most memorable concerts of my life in 1971 when I was 19 years old. A bunch of friends and I piled into an old car and drove from Midland, Michigan down to Ann Arbor where Pink Floyd was playing at Hill Auditorium. All tickets were 3 bucks. I've seen so many concerts before and since I can't remember them all, but this concert I will never forget because the experience was incomparable. I knew they were going to be good because I was already familiar with their records, but I didn't know just how good. I wish there had been a way to preserve the experience, but of course some things can't be captured. I have an old black and white photo a friend took during the concert, and of course my memories. Richard Wright would have been 28 at the time. I will be forever grateful to these musicians for creating music that reached me in way few things have.

A lovely remembrance, Michael.

Pink Floyd has been an almost constant companion since 1967. You are quite right that while Syd's mark on the band is indelible, Richard's is as great as that of David and Roger.

Thank you.
