Fox’s O’Reilly Defends Obama And Warns McCain On Pig Lipstick Charge

Fox News’ mega-ratings winner Bill O’Reilly defends Democratic Presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama against charges from GOP Presidential candidate Sen. John McCain’s camp that Obama talk about a pig with lipstick was a reference to Republican Veep candidate Gov. Sarah Palin. O’Reilly also takes (another) swipe at NBC News — and warns McCain about the impact this kind of campaigning could have on independent voters:

This signals that the charge — although it may still be effective — has now jumped the shark. (Or the pig..)

Oy, why did I have to listen to him for three minutes? Even when I agree with him I feel ill.
  • Half_Past_Midnight
That's kind of dumb, because Obama said, himself, that Palin was the lipstick. O'Reilly just wants to go to all those media parties.
  • The far right, who will continue spreading this soundbite even after McCain stops, has stopped listening to O'Reilly. They think he's an Obama supporter, now.
  • Half_Past_Midnight,
    I bet you're really insulted now! Here's a hankie...

If you sorta close your eyes while watching the O'Reilly clip I swear you can almost see a pig flying. :>O

    Chriswww~

Insulted by what? I never watch O'Reilly. To me, he's always been a blowhard. Right now, he's being stupid, as well.

A bit off topic but can I, just for a moment, call attention to what's happening in our sphere-of-influence back yard while the news media and blogs bloviate about lipstick, Bill O'Reilly and sex ed?

You see, Russia has just landed long-range strategic bombers (you know, the kind that carry nuclear weapons) in Venezuela. Our ambassador has been ordered out.

Could this have happened 20 years ago? No. Has saber rattling and sending US warships to Georgia (Russia's sphere-of-influence) by McCain/Bush helped? No. Is this comparable to the old Soviet Union transporting possible nuclear-tipped missiles to Cuba in the 60s? Yes.

Is our "news" media incompetent? Yes. Is the fact that our Army and Marine Corps have been deployed for 6 years to a war zone that shouldn't be, having an effect on our ability to respond to this provocation? Absolutely.

Thank you. It's OK to now return to Very Important Issues.

The timing on the positioning of these bombers is brilliant on Russia's part. They seem to be betting that a lame-duck President will pass it off to the next guy (which he probably will), and that our news media is distracted with hurricanes and lipstick on pigs (which on the second count, they sadly are).
  • Could this have happened 20 years ago? No.

Obviously the media should be giving it greater coverage, however a big part of why this is happening is missile defense system and the expansion of NATO.

Don't blame just the media, the sheep love a sleazy story over Mullen saying Afghanistan is failing. How long has the Florida two year old gone missing? Is any blond college student missing? Did Bradljoliena adopt or spitout another child?
  • ThinkingOnMyOwnTwoFeet
Good for O'Reilly for taking a stand on this. I'm a McCain supporter, but I don't believe Obama was referring to Palin with that comment, and the McCain camp needs to discard the unfair ad they've been playing regarding this!
