McCain chose her as his running mate. Should she just have cancelled or something? Then no doubt the media would have criticized her for cancelling -- damned if you do, damned if you don't. The Gibson interview did not portray Palin as an extremist, but as a capable woman who will quickly come up-to-speed on foreign policy.
