Perhaps your world is frozen in time, but like many news stories involving unknowns, the Palin story has EVOLVED and we no a good deal more about Trig this week than we did 12 days ago.

Sully's comments were appropriate then just as his latest comments, which I happen to endorse, are appropriate now.

Sullivan, at The Atlantic, who was particularly disingenuous in his “just asking” slimes of Palin's pregnancy, is now posting about how wonderful Palin is for having Trig!

He actually said it was a wonderful thing on the day she was announced as a candidate.

I note on Memeorandum that stories of “Troopergate” have disappeared entirely. They have been replaced by articles about how Sarah Palin is lying when she says she fought the “Bridge to Nowhere” which actually was a “Bridge to Somewhere” – specifically an island with 7,500 inhabitants.

this isn't quite true — or, it is, depending i guess on which direction you're headed. ketchikan itself is on an island, and does indeed have a population of 7500. that has never been the issue. what is at issue is that the “bridge to nowhere” was to lead over the intervening 1/2-mile tongass strait to gravina island, pop. 50. though ketchikan int'l airport is located on gravina, the proposed bridge definitely seemed to be more a question of convenience than necessity, as a ferry service crosses the strait to gravina once every half-hour.

interesting that, for all of their purported rugged individualism (and of course, massive oil profits) the state wanted the rest of us to pay for their bridge

We could go through each item and argue, but my point is geared to what is happening here on TMV.

I wish I had the power to police the entire right side of the internet, just as I’m sure you two would like to keep the left accurate, but we just can’t do that.

What we can do is try to keep this website accurate and make sure unsubstantiated smears aren’t presented as facts without being first challenged and then ridiculed to prevent reoccurrence.

Articles like Shaun’s diminish the credibility of TMV and, by association, all of us.

I would have to say the smearing has been done with equal vigor on both sides. Don't paint the conservatives as saints and ubiquitous fact-checkers.

It appears from Gallup and other polls that a huge surge of women & independents is moving McCain/Palin's way. Nobody's going to fault her for per-diem to visit her husband and kids 500 miles from Juneau!

The South Carolina rumor has always been blamed on Rove, but there has never been any evidence and those with sense attribute it to someone on the religious fringe. And yes, it was debunked immediately after it surfaced.
