    If McCain and Palin (more an outsider than Obama, incidentally) can convince the public they will seek true change, the kind the public wants (reform of government, reduction of government), they deserve to win in November by a substantial margin. They already are different than the GOP members most responsible outside the Bush admininstration for the 2006 election results, the Congressional GOP acting as Democrats, happy with bloated government, comfortable with corruption. To put a brake on that and actually shrink government is the kind of change that is wanted, not “change” that is retrogression to the Carter years and before.
