Of course, people need to (perhaps even should be able to) understand the words that were spoken and what they mean and make correct logical inferences and deductions from them before evaluating them. Chris, you're obviously premature.

Either that, or you're just among the many agitated by the success of their speeches and still shocked that GOP speechmakers and convention politicians surprised us all and did something right and successful for a change.

Palin's choice as VP turns out to be the event of the year to date, politically.

DLS,
Those speeches last night are great examples of why people don't like Republicans. They have nothing to offer but fear of war and cultural divisiveness.

Huck, Rudy, Palin all gave good speeches. They were well received nation-wide, not only in the GOP choir room last night. Is it desperation why so many of you are engaging in the most _pathetic_ fiction, mischaraterization of people and their speeches and behavior last night and four years ago, and in Shaun's case, more of his Desperately Driven sewage-swimming today?

The greatest irony was Giuliani's overly long speech, which prevented the video bio from being shown. The effect was to make Palin look more snide.

Rudy G doesn't have a leg to stand on anymore. He's become a revenant as more centrists like Bloomberg have done more for this city cleaning up Rudy's sledgehammer politics fallout ( Bernie Kerik, Limo-gate,ugly divorce ring a bell Rudy?)

The lisping ghoul needs to go back to his casket.

I once spent about 50 hours analyzing Zell Miller's 2004 speech for a project. The thunderous applause for his war mongering was almost nauseating.

Robert, I agree. Giuliani created an ugly and divisive spectacle. We've seen the word "hate" thrown around pretty loosely here on occasion, but how could a speech like that be made without an underlying current of hate? That the crowd responded to this ugliness so fervantly I also found disturbing.
