Leonidas. Olberman is pompous, but until he came around, there was few liberal voices on prime time cable. How many time has Rush Limpbaugh shot himself in the foot? What does it take for Ann Coulter to have her hundredth Rather moment?

Back on topic, lets see what Palin does with Russert's ghost.

Platforms are guides, McCain can and likely will throw out anything in the party platform that he doesn't believe in.

I like the question of whether this is Palin's or McCain's party. Here's a quick take: For the people who run the party, either as officials or as the dependable everyman crusaders on the ground, this is Palin's party. Her form of social conservatism is what really gets them excited. The Party platform is much closer to a Palin platform than a McCain one. However, as the primaries showed, if you look at the Big Tent republican party, it's actually somewhat closer to a McCain. McCain won rather quickly despite the base being either lukewarm or downright hostile to him. There are a lot of Republicans no represented by the Party platform, but they are not actively running the party.

Palin's a big girl, Sarah Baracuda can handle herself just fine. Wonder which sleazeball's bones she will spit out first after chomping em up. Obama and Biden are acting classy after Obama's spokesman had a bite take out of him. My guess is some idiot reporte .like Keith Olberman he is about due for another Dan Rather moment or other idiocy like the one Glenn Greenwald took him to task for.

http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2008/06/...

I wonder how Cantor and Lieberman will respond to Palin's presence at a Jews for Jesus speech where the speaker praised Palestinian terrorists for exacting "God's judgment" on "unsaved Jews."

Seriously, ever pushback just opens up new questions.

No foreign policy experience? But but but Alaska borders Russia! Mockery.
No experience period? But she has so much executive experience, more than Obama and Biden (and McCain I suppose). Mockery.
She's a reformer! But she supported earmarks and hired Ted Stevens' lobbyist. Mockery
Sexism! Right.

The pushbacks only underscore how boneheaded this choice was. Normally respectable Republicans sound like Hugh Hewitt bloviatng about Bush's genius.
