Its good to see the Obama campaign backtracking on this and toning down their initial criticism. They made a huge mistake in their intital attack on Palin in this area, its good to know that they have at least recognized it.

Is it really a personal attack; just pointing out the facts and adding some opinion onto it?
It all end ups pointing towards the character of these individuals and the family (and perhaps even society) in general. The general public has yet to see the tip of the iceburg on any of the candidates; yet it will certainly be interesting to see where this one goes.
The mound of negative facts seem to be adding up against the governor's family. While this may be a case of a seventeen year old whom made a mistake; what about the probable criminal case involving the governor and one of the former in-laws. The governor may be too much of a loose cannon for even DC life.

She's a 17 year old kid who made a mistake, yeah-but she's the Governor's daughter. Not some kid in East La, or 239th Street or Baton Rouge. Mommy is a staunch pro-lifer zero sex education parent. Do the math.
I blame Jamie Lynn and Juno- what role models these girls have. Screw up your life- and it's ok as long as you have wealth- mommy will fix it for you.

She's a 17-year-old kid who made a mistake. It isn't her fault that her mother is a VP candidate, and we should all leave the poor girl alone. Frankly, I have to (grudgingly) admit that Sarah Palin is being a really good mom by supporting her daughter through something that a lot of parents would find unforgivable. I still think she's a poor choice for a VP candidate, but the personal attacks are awfully crass and unnecessary.
