GOP/McCain Suspend Convention For Monday

In what I consider to be not only a politically-wise but a generally-classy decision, the McCain campaign has announced that they will suspend all but necessary procedural activities for Monday. There will be no political activities at the session, just those required by the rules in place.

I am sure that there will be some on the hard left who will try to make political hay of this but hope that most of us join together in supporting the people of the Gulf Coast.

I would love to see the Obama campaign also suspend activities tomorrow and let us all direct our efforts to those in harm’s way.

They're all calling a pause tomorrow, and that's a good thing. I'm hoping to start helping out as soon as the storm moves through. We have a handful of evacuees here in Knoxville, and there are thousands in Nashville and Memphis. They'll need all the help they can get. If you live anywhere near the Southeast or the Gulf, check with local Red Cross or your local church/synagogue to see how to help.

This is not a time for partisanship, its a time to help out our fellow citizens.

Well this is a political website, and while we all will be praying (or whatever it is we do to well-wish) for the people of the Gulf Coast, we can still make observations as to the title of this article.

McCain is going to look like superman next to Obama. Obama unwisely had his own superstadium blowout, spending millions on that convention with his own greek temple, basking in the glow of thousands of adoring worshippers..

McCain meanwhile will hold a spartan court and dedicate his time helping disaster victims instead. Man of fluff and waste vs man of action and dedication. The timing for Obama (ironically, not McCain) couldn't have been worse.

In this economy, it's going to make Obama look even more outlandish and unfit for the job. Just keepin' it real. Obama should go down there and help bail out homes and such after the storm recedes. He should not be going to parties dedicated to his magnificence for sure..

You will note that this post includes helpful hints for a more successful Obama..as do all of my posts..
