Maybe experience isn't the way to measure someone's ability and judgment-BUSH HAS EXPERIENCE!
And-isn't the best run campaign an indicator of Obama's executive ability? Think of what you'd have to do to pull off everything he did and still have it all convey his vision: you'd have to be a master at communication,organization, leadership, have strength,and foresight. And know your purpose.
I watched McCain's biography today and it seems his common thread in his life is to do something against the grain to fulfill some need and get noticed.
I read Obama as someone who is compelled to solve problems and make things work better. That may be his need, but that's what we want in a president.
Without knowing anything else about any of them you can tell what they are about by their demeanor. You can always tell what someone thinks of themselves. Watch any talent show-Am Idol-etc. and you can see that and see where it gets them. People pick up on that stuff and respond to it. That's why people feel moved by Obama.
All the bantering about the details is not thinking on the right level. Its like buying a house because you like the wall color instead of seeing if the walls are made well.

Wow. … And now the Blogosphere is ripe with the pregnant rumor that her new son is not actually hers, but rather her daughters… and there seems to be legs on this dog.

And if it turns out to be a little left wing shot over the McCain bow? Too bad. It is LONG past the time for a little “Rovian/Limbaugh” torpedo-lie payback….. let the republicans know how it feels for a change…

It's funny watching you lefties get all huffy about inexperience when your candidate was the most inexperienced of the election.

I don't know if I'm a "lefty", but "experience" is the wrong word. Obama has demonstrated good judgment on a number of occasions - the obvious example is his comments prior to the Iraq war, but there are many others including the fact that he put together a team that won a campaign against a seemingly invincible candidate during the primaries.

Along with 99.9% of the country I don't know much about Palin's judgment, but from what little I've seen, when compared with Obama her record does appear to be very thin. That said, expectations are very low, so if she gets out on the campaign trail and blows everyone away then her addition will be a massive boost to the McCain ticket. If she comes across as unprepared, however, McCain's chances may sink with her.

I'll take 1.5 years of Governor over 1.5 years as Senator. Yeah his state senate seat beats being mayor of a small town but people really aren't interested in what they did at that level. It's funny watching you lefties get all huffy about inexperience when your candidate was the most inexperienced of the election. Also she is running for number 2 not the top spot. But yeah it's now a wash and so was the change motto when Obama brought in consummate Washington Insider Biden into the ticket.

McCain certainly seemed to put politics ahead of the good of the country today. Let's hope voters notice.

McCain had previously said in his search for veep that he was "finding the person most qualified to step in and assume the presidency." Can anyone argue that Palin meets that description?

She's not even close.

I've heard an argument that people won't want Palin because of the chance McSame could croak or become unfit in office.

I would say that this is the appeal of Palin to former Clinton supporters..
