Some live chat during the Obama speech

By way of Ustream TV, you can take part in live chats during internet television shows. One of these is the daily show by my friend Ed Morrissey of Hot Air. (Yes, yes… I know. But believe it or not, some liberal, moderate, independent and libertarian types hang out there as well, though not as many Obama fans, I’ll admit.) During Obama’s speech tonight, there will be a live chat at this link which I’ll be taking part in and moderating. Feel free to stop by with your own observations during the speech if you like.

If you’ve never used Ustream before, you’ll want to go to the link above first and register for a free account and get a nickname. Once inside a web page, blog post, etc. with a uStream TV show playing, you can type in the following command:

/nick Username:password

Then you will automatically be logged in with your chat name without going to the Ustream homepage again. See you there if you want to join it!

UPDATE: As per Holly, if you don’t care to go to Hot Air, live chat is also available at the excellent progressive blog, Pam’s House Blend.

OBAMA HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK!!! It was a 500 ft homer! No, a 700 ft homer! No, a 1000 MILE HOMER!!!!

I say all that before Obama has even opened his mouth. I'm just anticipating what MSNBC will say. I'm guessing Olberman will be rendered speechless (relatively speaking) and Tweety's stain will reach his ankle. Maybe even both of them.

And of course Rachel Maddow will end up with the most memorable quote. Damn, that lady's smart. Not only smart, but smart within the confines of a New York minute. I hope that never occurs to her.

This is not the place for this, but you brought it up. Your willingness to back this man shows that you have no idea about where Obama came from or, you choose to ignore it. He is a socialist, if you think that’s what’s right for this country, you should move to one that embraces 50% taxes for subpar medical care, along with government control on the people and unbridled spending like you have never seen. Let’s not forget redistribution of hard earned money to people who have had less success in business. Do you really think that is fair? Have you heard of "trikle up poverty?" Who do you think is going to pay for all his grand ideas?, Excuse me you must be one of the people who pay little or no taxes. I had a discussion with a lady who said that she is voting for Obama because she thinks everyone should be paid the same no matter their job. I asked her what she does for a living; she said, “I work at a department store for 8 bucks an hour”. Clearly she thinks that if Obama is elected she will gain financially without any effort. But then again maybe we will ALL make eight dollars and hour and Obama and our fair government can keep our rainy day money “for your own good”. She didn’t consider that move. Don’t you see Obama is a say anything guy who is using underachievers or the guilt of overachievers so, once elected, he can open the door for the largest expansion of government ever seen in the free world. Not only will the stifle opportunity for success in the future, you will be giving up your freedom. Free healthcare, free college, free money……. In the end, the government does not produce anything, without taking taxes from you. Its easy to get caught up in the romantic idea of a grass roots upheaval because you think Obama is a grassroots candidate “for the people”, but he is really just for creating a government so large, that will provide you with so much “free stuff” (which he knows you will eventually not be able to live without) that we, as a people will be completely dependant on our corrupt government. At that point, you can kiss the free market system, freedom of choice, the ability to work hard to succeed and frankly democracy goodbye. Hello Karl Marx, if you think it isn’t true, you either have not done your homework, have an ulterior motive or drank the kool-aid. I’m afraid you will get just what you voted for. I’m sorry that I will have to suffer for your choice. Wake up and smell the government issued coffee. Isn’t everyone entitled to a good cup of coffee?

Dear john adams (any relation to the original?)

Apparently you didn't catch on that I was being facetious.

For the record, though, I disagree with almost everything you say. One thing I do agree with is that this isn't the place for this.
