DLS- I think you have it backwards about 2000. Jeb Bush promised his brother he'd deliver, and with the help of the nutty Ms Harris, he succeeded.

It's now also the Poor Judgment of the great majority of delegates who have been voting today (Wednesday).

* * *

Why didn't any of the speakers Monday or yesterday argue on Clinton's behalf, and specifically against Obama? If this were so close, you would think it would be very contentious on that stage (and rough on the floor, too). Sorry, Sil.

I may be misunderstanding, but I don't think that Sill has argued in a long time that Clinton won. I think the argument is that Obama being nominated is a mistake (because October will bring a wave of scandals) and that the Supers should reverse the poor judgment of people like me.

Silhouette, what the Dems did in 2000 was bad enough, trying to steal what they lost, but are you going to advocate that if Obama is nominated, a recount be demanded or a revote be taken? Are you going to demand honesty and demand that the illegitimate outlaw Michigan and Florida delegates have their votes not count, since legally and morally they shouldn't? You know, all those Clinton votes?

What if the only Clinton votes come from these outlaw Florida and Michigan people? No superdelegates at all?

Silhouette, that wound would heal a lot sooner if you would leave it alone. As for Sinclair, you almost give the impression you will be disappointed if the story turns out to be a bust. I'm sure that isn't a hope that Hillary shares.

Fine, I'll tell you what. You set up a PayPal account and I'll send you $20 should it ever gain the legitimacy of the Edwards claims. That's right, $20 if it comes out that Obama had a gay sex orgy.

Let's just assume that Obama is a foreign, devout Muslim who is also gay, couldn't he have done better than Larry Sinclair? I assume that this nation's Ivy League schools, being such a hot bed of anti-American activities, would have no shortage of homosexuals (who would likely be discreet, even). Why wouldn't he cruise on campus? Too funny.

As a matter of fact, I have a shocking revelation! I have heard from second hand sources that there are tapes of McCain hanging out with Michael Vick.

I hope your big picture includes recent memory of how the long-thought-ridiculous-rumor Edwards scandal turned out.

I'm telling you here and now, when, and not if, the Sinclair story is released as coming from "an American...who bravely asked that the truth be told", you're going to be crying in your beer. And all democrats will join you there.

We will all lose, not just Obama. And more than that, our country will lose by getting the default-winner McLame. With the Russians making threats and BigOil posturing right back, I'd hate to be Hillary in four more years when the ubermess needs cleaning up from some poor decision making in this convention week.

Obama's reputation and the democratic bid will not survive "an American...who bravely asked that the truth be told" on the six O'Clock news.

Coming soon at a TV near you..

"If I was him I'd just get up and say "F- it. Enjoy losing." And then walk off stage and mourn the loss of everything I'd loved and worked for."

Luckily for us Bill Clinton is a better public servant and citizen than that. I'm sure he'll do well as I was sure yesterday that Hillary will do well. Maybe they don't like Obama (to this day, Ted Kennedy and Jimmy Carter have a bristly relationship over their primary), but they're Democrats. They believe in the Democrats' approach to governing. They're not a couple of low information yahoos relying on cheap gossip of the likes of Larry Sinclair and their vibe of who "feels" more ready. As a matter of fact, I'm certain the two of them don't personally like Obama all that much, but that fact likely matters less to them than it does to our national press corp who are missing their true calling as recappers for "The Hills."

All these "rumors" we keep hearing about are just that - rumors expanded and expounded on endlessly by the 24-hour loop of cable "news." For the last week we were treated to speculation, pontification, and breathless warnings about the continued turmoil and jockeying between Hillary and Obama. And of course, it turned out to be just hot air from those who make their living blowing smoke.

Clinton will do very well this evening, I'm sure. He'll be all over the Bush-McCain coalition, and what it's done to this nation. Maybe he'll repeat his old line of voting for hope instead of fear. And he'll praise Obama as the new Democratic standard bearer.

They say Hillary's speech was hard to deliver...

Bill's makes hers look like a cakewalk. Bill Clinton is a man who has poured his heart and soul into the democratic party since day one. He's locked horns with the GOP, has served 8 years in the unforgiving Whitehouse and knows the scars and bloodletting of dedication to a cause.

Furthermore, he knows as most sane people do that his wife is IMMINENTLY more qualified than Barack Obama, and that in time of war Obama statistically doesn't stand a chance against Mc Cain. He knows when people are scared, they revert back to the familiar rather than the hopeful...

And he knows of scandals looming on Obama's horizon that will disqualify him further than he already is slipping in the polls...

So for Clinton to stand up in front of the party he loves, the party he's bled and dedicated himself to and urge them to promote Obama is like a man leading his beloved pet dog to the vet to be euthanized unnecessarily.

How can he muster any enthusiasm at all.

If I was him I'd just get up and say "F- it. Enjoy losing." And then walk off stage and mourn the loss of everything I'd loved and worked for.

If he can even crack a smile it will be a miracle.

And no matter what he does up there you can be sure he'll be lambasted for it, unlike his wife. Because Bill Clinton is always wrong and bad don't you know...and you can take that to the bank...

The same bank that was enjoying record prosperity under the Clinton administration.

No wonder the rest of the world thinks the US has their heads up their arses. They sit there with their jaws on the floor in astonishment at our make-believe realities..

He has a lot of people nervous, more nervous than people are about Joe Biden.

I say, he should go all out and attack Bush, McCain, and the Republicans on the economy -- he could start out by attacking the Iraq occupation but then surprise everyone by switching the topic to the economy ("and just look at what they have done to our own nation"), and attacking them even to the point of getting red-faced and screaming. (He can also talk about the Clinton economy and about Himself, you will no doubt realize.) He needs to do better than he did in the 2004 convention, a speech that probably was outdone only by Obama's.
