Maybe she'll meet Cheney for lunch, since he's been sent there as special envoy by W (so that no one wonders why he's not at the Repubs convention, LOL)

SteveK, no problem, thanks! If you're redundant, that's quite alright. I like your comment (we should have seen it coming). Perhaps we should start a contest to predict the next bone-headed McCain move.... :)

Hahaha. First McCain mocks Obama for looking presidential on his overseas trips to meet foreign leaders, then McCain sends his wife into a war zone... Of course it's politics... But I'm also glad someone is doing it, though it is inappropriate for her to do so.

Of course I thought it was inappropriate for McCain to offer his wife to enter nto a strip contest in ND (or where ever it was) a month or so ago. It shows that McCain is willing to do anything, including trashing his wife's reputation and putting her life at risk, to win a few votes to become president. If he's willing to do that to her, what is he willing to do with the rest of us?

Call me crazy, but I prefer a president with more American values, such as hard work, a good education, raising one's family (without divorce) and making one's own way in the world. Offering one's wife to be in a strip show is a bit too much for my tastes.

MSNBC's chyron reported last night that she was going to Georgia to "access civilian casualties". I guess no one else in the Bush Administration was available?
Not sure many Clinton supporters will be "poached" by this, but it might at least generate a few laughs.
I don't see anything wrong with his attempt to "poach" Clinton voters. Crashing the convention and having someone run across the stage with a McCain sign or when dressed in an elephant costume would strike me as funny. As for the other things you commented on, well, it would certainly invite retaliation in future election years' conventions. Mainly it would just show the defensive, negative character of the GOP and the McCain campaign (nothing to offer, relying solely on attacking the other side).

* * *

Well, she has to try to do something along with her husband to upstage and deflate the Obamas and Obama Week (this week).

* * *

Yeah DLS, screw the time honored tradition of political parties respecting each others conventions... What a pathetic attitude, but just another first from good ol' "High Road" McCain.

Well, she has to try to do something along with her husband to upstage and deflate the Obamas and Obama Week (this week).

* * *

Yeah DLS, screw the time honored tradition of political parties respecting each others conventions… What a pathetic attitude, but just another first from good ol' “High Road” McCain.

Michael overreacts in such a crazy manner.
I think she's just laying the groundwork for her own presidential run. Fast forward 12 or so years and we'll be hearing about all of this sniper fire she was under when she landed.

wait...who were we talking about again?? (sorry, couldn't resist)

I certainly agree with you Michael...I can't find any use other than political motivations for her to go over there. So who cares? No one's paying much attention anyway.

It is a nice womanly thing Little Cindy McCain is doing and I am sure that it is going to pave the way nicely for her husband to rush in and save the world. Now if she could do something for all the vets who continue to rot away with substandard care it would be totally swell. It might also be a good idea to keep the pain killers locked up as well when she travels as well.

BTW doing something for her own half sister who's existence she doesn't acknowledge might be nice too.

A politician practicing politics, who'd a thunk it? It is a bitter pill to swallow that McCain has out foxed Obama, yet again. Not bad for an old codger.

Too bad that the Obamas haven't been able to find it in their hearts to do any of the charity work that the McCains have. In fact, Obama, who made about $4.2MM last year, can't even spare a few bucks, or a few minutes for a phone call or letter, for his impoverished half-brother. It's not only that Cindy McCain's trip to Georgia makes her look bad, it's that when contrasted with the actions of the Obamas or lack thereof, the Obamas look like shit.
