If the American people didn't forgive and forget he would have been voted out the next election. Its only the conservative dittoheads who keep bringing Chappaquidick up-even now when the man is dieing of brain cancer.

I disagree with a guy like Dick Cheney a lot, but would never pick his last hurrah to point out that he's treated the Constitution like a piece of toilet paper– or enabled Bush's cowboy diplomacy which led to the worst foreign policy disasters in US history. Since he's NOT dieing, however, I have no problem saying it!

As for Teddy, he actually is a dinosaur well past his time and we don't want to be taken back to policies such as he would have sought to get away with, and we'll be watching for warning signs of this between now and November.
