Seth Methers on Late Night with Seth Meyers gave a brutal 9 1/2 minute comedy take-down, complete with videos and tweets, detailing Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trumps lies about Barack Obama’s birth certificate, when he (supposedly) stopped talking about it and that Hillary Clinton started the lie.
We won’t give any of the content away in this post. Just watch it and be surprised — and enlightened.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sBhANSz–kFOOTNOTE: The traditional media is having an extremely difficult time figuring out how to deal with someone like Trump, who is ignoring all norms when it comes to politics, interaction with the mainstream media, and even truth. It’s a “no-duh” that politicians do lie but Trump and his surrogates have taken it to a breathtakingly new level — or depth.
I suspect comedians taking on Trump when it comes to accuracy and using humor as a vehicle could prove potent with audiences that tune into their broadcast network or cable shows. Meanwhile, the media seems to be adjusting to the fact that Trump is not funny or an “entertainer,” but someone who has a good chance of occupying the Oval Office — someone who needs to be held to the same standards that all previous Presidential candidates have had to meet.
