Biden's Iraq vote is not too problematic because he's been such a critic of Bush for so long.

He's a great attack dog. He has tons of foreign policy experience (and a son soon to be deployed to Iraq). And he has appeal to blue collar voters (despite his credit card vote).

The downside is that he talks too much and he had that plagiarism issue 20 years ago.

Overall, I think he's a great pick.

Like I said, democrats “in the know” know a sinking ship when they see one. Who wants to jump on board when it's a certain career-wrecker?

Answer: nobody.

Obama may have to grab an intern on the way into the Convention and wave them around as his VP choice. He's got to be getting a little nervous by now..

The surest way now for Obama to answer attacks on his good judgment and doubts about his political maturity is to announce his choice of Joe Biden and get on with ending the Bush-McCain era in November.

Picking Biden does the exact opposite. Obama and Biden picked opposite sides on Iraq. So if he picks Biden, Obama needs him to admit he made a grave mistake on the invasion. Otherwise Obama will be tacitly turning his back on what has so far been a much smarter vision for our foreign policy.
