Reminds me a bit of little Czechoslovakia in 1938 when Britain & France threw that baby off the troika, as the EU-nuchs are now doing with Georgia to the Russians. Guess all that natural gas & crude oil from Russia is worth more than democratic principles. Because from the strategic point of view. this is another oil war, with Russian attempting to keep Kazakh & Turkmen feedstock from transiting to the West through the BTC. Marshall Goldman wrote all about it in Petrostate.

Russia's response was far greater than the Georgian provocation and now we can understand that the ancient Russian drive for expansion has not changed with the end of the Cold War. Ukraine will be the next on its menu, and after Vlad Bonaparte failed to poison its president, Russia will revert to its brutal bullying.

Poland & the Czechs and the Baltic States are the most anti-Russian for a reason, they've lived under its barbarous codes. World opinion is slowly shifting to support their viewpoint & the Georgian position, it seems.
