The Clintons’ Convention
To the untrained eye, they seem to be overspreading the Democratic Convention like those kudzu vines that grow a foot every day to eventually blot out everything in sight, but the Clintons insist they are doing it all for Barack Obama.
Hillary will speak one night and Bill will hold forth the next, after, if all goes according to their plan, Clinton supporters get “catharsis” by nominating her and, in her words, “yell and scream and have their opportunity.”
In the Denver streets outside, a grassroots group will be marching and holding a festival “to celebrate Clinton’s achievement and advocate for women’s rights.”
All this, according to Hillary, is for the benefit of Obama.

After watching Obamas numbers sagging all summer I bet the supers are wishing they had their vote back.
Perhaps Obama could increase his numbers by Nominating Paris Hilton as his Veep and then the two airheads could campaign together in style.
Where is Hillary and the traditional democrats when you need them??
Now before anyone gets their undies in a bunch, consider that all democrats benefit from the Clinton strategy in a very important way: If something happens to the Obama campaign that is a deal-killer…oh, I don't know, like a looming sex scandal the likes of which would pale the Edwards fiasco, then we don't automatically lose in the Fall.
We have an officially nominated replacement to slide in in case of emergency.
This actually does benefit the Obama campaign because it protects him from the onslaughts of the GOP shark machine post-Denver. It will hugely frustrate their efforts because as you know the LAST person they want to contend with on the ballot in November is “Landslide Hillary”.
So yeah, the move does help the Obama campaign in a way he seriously is going to need it after the convention. It's a message to the GOP “careful what you do, we've got Hillary on deck.”
