Rambie,

The Republican Party is in the middle of a collapse. Look at the number of Democrats who are running unoppose. Look at the Republicans inability to recruit candidates.

It does not matter where the Republicans move in the long term. There are not enough religious right voters or fiscal conservative voters to win many elections. Even combined there is not enough to keep a 50 state political party going.

As the demographics of the U.S. change, the Republican party will collapse no matter what. The current incompetence of the Republicans has just sped up the process. If you want to see the future, look at places like Memphis where the Democratic Primary is the acutal election and the general election is just to rubber stamp whatever the Democratic Primary decided.

I just knew SD would jump in here spreading the doom-and-gloom. SD, it's not going to happen, the Republican party isn't going to collapse.

Sure the party needs to do a little soul searching and decide what they really want stand for on important issues.

Do they want to keep moving toward the religious-right who continues to push for a pusdo-theocratic government? (This is just as bad as the far-left, I don't think most Americans want the Government to tell them what to think or what to do)

Do they want to go back to being the fiscally conservative party or tax-cut & and Spend like this Administration has done?

These were some of the things that I admired McCain, he was willing to buck the party's line.

The dominance of one party in a city, county , or state is what makes election fraud easy. Since the U.S. is headed to being a one party state, election fraud in the primaries is bound to increase.

After the Repubican Party completes its death spiral, there will probably be few competative elections and the media will probably not be interested in the others. Thus, election fraud will occur at a massive level. Given the assumption that turnout will go down in the coming one party state, election fraud on bond elections, initiaves, or the few competative primary elections will be massive. See Chicago. ST Louis, Detroit, or Philly as the prototype for the country
