On the Radio: Barr Campaign and Energy Movies

01aradio.png Today on Mid Stream Radio, we have a bit of a treat for you, should you care to stop by. (1 pm eastern, 10 am pacific today.) In the second half, Cindy and I will be talking to Derek Barr, representative of the Bob Barr campaign. (And probably only by coincidence, Bob’s son.) We’ll be talking to him about the campaign and asking some questions on issues raised by readers here at TMV. If you already have, or stop by early and pick up, a nickname for the live web chat at the BTR homepage, you can contribute questions and comments during the call.

Before that, however, during the first half we will talk to author and professional movie critic Betty Jo Tucker of Movie Addict Headquarters. With energy policy on everyone’s mind these days, Betty Jo will be going over a brief history of movies dealing with the oil industry, coal mining, nuclear energy, etc. and discuss how Hollywood has treated these industries over the years, as well as how these perceptions may have helped shape America’s opinions on them.

See you on the radio!

I'm often intrigued by children who seem to have the same politics as their parents. I don't expect to end up with kids who always agree with me. I was one of those Americans who thought Giuliani's daughter being in Obama's network was funny, not because she liked Obama, but because it's routine for a daughter to disagree with her dad. It was no knock against Giuliani. Anyway, if my child turns into a homophobe or racist, I'll be pissed, but if she advocates a voucher system while I oppose it, well, it means I did a good job raising someone with her own mind.

Not that kids who campaign for their parents don't have their own minds....

    I'm going to work now.
