What Germans Think of Barack Obama: Continuity We Can Believe In

The majority of Germans support Barrack Obama for the US presidency, not because they believe he will radically change US policy, but because he is expected to return it to the familiar pre-Bush trajectory. This is the conclusion from my colleague Ben Heine over at Atlantic Community.

Ben and I have interviewed the attendees of the Obama rally in Berlin yesterday. Here’s our video:

What do you think of the opinions expressed by the interviewees?

Do you have the mic, Jeorg?

I didn't listen to all of it, but I really liked the line, “Germans want a reason to like (love?) America again.”

Yeah, that is one of my favorite lines as well. And there is a lot of truth to it.

Obama personifies the American Dream. And we Europeans have that dream as well.

I was behind the camera most of the time. At some point in the middle of video clip I am holding the mic and question the blond American woman, whether Obama will get such a positive reception in four years as well etc. That was me. :-)
