Making a fetish out of privacy, or any other single right or liberty is as silly and dangerous, as ignoring the importance.
I don't buy the Pope's absolutism, and I'm not swayed by the obsessions of Libertarans like Barr.
Give me a pagmatist every time.

to Cnet:

Privacy, due Process, and overzealous surveillance are issues which involve all of us, NOT only the "geek vote"

Thank you for an intelligent and well-written account of the Libertarian positions regarding Privacy and overzealous surveillance. Obama and most of the Democrats are far too weak, vaccillating and inconsistant on these issues to be of any use to the American voter, and McCain and most Republicans are flatly HOSTILE to civil liberties, privacy, and Due Process!

It is time that we Americans started evaluating new and better candidates for the Presidency and other offices. Both McCain and Obama may be good men in their private lives, but they are utterly inadaquate for the Presidency even in normal times, much less the crises which seem to be looming both in the economy and Foreign policy!

PEACE AND FREEDOM!!
David K. Meller

It's more like the Childish Vote. The word "privacy" is ridiculously abused. This actually has next to nothing to do with the misbehavior of the Bush administration.
