We all need to scream this from the roof tops. BALANCE THE BUDGET.

But I am afraid that the left sees a huge chance to have rampant welfare at the expense of another 5 trillion in debt while the right is busy trying to figure out what went wrong in such a short time.

I fear partisan politics will abandon us once again for the lust for power by the left this time. I would take out a loan and support whomever proposes seriously to balance the budget next fall.

It's interesting how McCain, Obama, and Hillary have all moved toward the right in the course of their campaigning. Based on what we've seen over the past decade there's been precious little in the way of solutions coming from that direction – certainly not any budget balancing. Looks like this rightish movement is just part of the horserace to me.

I agree with Neocon, America is like a drug addict. How did rampant consumerism manage to supplant other, more proven American values?

Any politician who is not preaching "Balance the budget at all costs" is a traitor to our national interests.

The subtle shift in our debt was that once we used to borrow from ourselves. Buy bonds. No big deal. Our debt was money we owed ourselves. Now we are asking foreign nations to support our habbit.

America is like a drug addict. We just cant spend enough money to fill the void that is inside of us.

No politician is truly patriotic in my book unless his main focus is on balancing the budget and making America the economic might she once was.
