It is a crime for media to broadcast information provided by the government without disclosing the source. The White House has already been caught doing this, for which Armstrong Williams was fined and disgraced (but the White House was not prosecuted). Your taxpayer money also was used to produce faked news segments in favor of Bush policies and 70 military experts are currently being investigated by Congress on covert propaganda charges in the 'Pentagon Pundit' scandal. For legal precedent, read the government's own definition of propaganda here http://www.prwatch.org/node/7261 - thanks for caring about America!

Amerigue - what is the 'illegal' part of what you are ranting about? That hardly rises to the legal definition of 'propaganda'.

Go adjust your tin-foil hat.

Many might be outraged by Limbaugh's deal if they knew he was illegally working hand in hand with the White House. Rush freely admits he broadcasts in absolute partisan bias, and also crows that despite hosting a show on politics with commentary on public policy, his highest priority is making profit for himself.

If, however Rush turns up on the list of "conservative radio hosts" that was according to Scott McClellan, receiving "packets" of information from Karl Rove, the White House Office of Strategic Initiatives and a "massive" communications operation originating in the White House to manipulate public opinion and media sources, they might not be so forgiving.

Find out and speak out here: http://www.opednews.com/articles/Stand-Up-Again...

I used to listen to Rush every day. Started listening to him in Sacremento Ca when I was in the USAF and stationed in Sacremento in the 70's, and when he went national one of the first stations in Michigan that carried him-where I moved when I left Ca.- was the one where I worked. I remember when he boasted about having 200, then 400 stations. Back then he really was a very funny guy, and his bits were very interesting. But, then he started to get nasty when gwb won in 2000. I stopped listening when he stopped being funny, and just became a typical hysterical wing nut self parody. Now he sounds just like Savage-whom he professes to dislike. Sorry, but his time has past, the politics of personal destruction that rove tried to raise to a high art have only resulted in the destruction of the republician party as a national party for at least 2 generations. Rush will continue on his way, with his outlandish personal consumption of ultra high priced goods. But what brought him to a national audience, his humor, has become bitter and sarcastic commentary, and when the dems win really big in 2008, he will continue down the path he has set for himself, and become just another Daivd Duke. His racism is in fact coming out almost every day. Just because I refuse to listen to him doesn't mean that I don't know what he says on the air.

The quote above from Limbaugh shows how far American politics has fallen. I'm on a trip now and I find I have to switch off both conservative AND some of left wing talk radio (when I can find it at all). The idea of engaging people on issues and serious matters is increasingly "Oh, so 20th century" and it's all about going after candidate personally. It's impossible to think of a campaign now that would really hinge on a Kennedy-Nixon debate. Rather, it centers on things such as Obama's middle name or his pastor or whether John McCain is too old (balderdash-- look at other countries) or muddying his military record (Bill Cinton's comment about people who were POWs being tortured and the impact on them was truly smelly).
As a broadcaster, Limbaugh is an incredible talent. But that quote above speaks volumes to how hot buttons can be pushed and some people will wink and cheer as they're pushed. Issues shmissues...just attack.

I have to add that there ARE some talk radio hosts on the left, right and center (they do exist) who focus more on issues. But Limbaugh reflects where our political culture is now and what many people prefer to focus on.

Rush Limbaugh is a hoot. I love to listen to him bash liberals in his mocking, absurd way.

Mr. Shultz on the other hand when he becomes angry instead of making fun of liberals and laughing at them he starts screaming insults and exhibits rightous indignation.

People could learn a lot more from Rush Limbaugh then they think. Anger turned to laughter is so much more fun and it is WHY the El Rushbo, coming to you with half his brain tied behind his back and having more fun then the law should allow makes us laugh.

Air America should try it instead of ranting and raving until I have an ulcer 10 minutes into the shows.
