		<description>Connecticut demonstrates that the Republicans are not the party of the rich.  Connecticut has the highest per capita income of any state and is solidly Democratic.  Connecticut is one of those states that demonstrates that the rich will vote Democratic as long as they do not live too close to blacks or Hispanics.</description>

		<description>Being from Connecticut, I also think Shays will probably hang on by a thread.  However, I wouldn&#039;t be surprised if he lost.  The hardly any more conservative Rob Simmons lost in 2006 in D2.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Of course, Shays represents the traditionally conservative part of the state, while Simmons had the misfortune of representing a more liberal part of the state with at least three colleges that were very active politically in 2006.  Yet, even they only made him lose by 83 votes.  I think if Shays is to lose, it will be nearly as close.</description>
